5 Digital Marketing Tools I Actually Open Every Day

1. Canva: For Design

I’m not a professional designer, and Canva doesn’t need me to be one. Whether it’s a social media post, a quick graphic, or a client-ready presentation, it lets me move quickly from a rough idea to a finished visual. The downside? It can get sluggish when a file becomes too complex, and some of its best-looking templates and elements sit behind a paid wall.

2. ChatGPT: AI Assistant

ChatGPT is my first stop for finding the method in the madness that is the scribbled notes taken at a meeting. Or it could be trying to look for resources and verifiable data, images, and videos from reliable sources. Its one drawback is that it can sound confident and look snazzy while feeding us wrong information.

3. Notion: For Productivity

Notion is more about reducing mental clutter for me. Content calendars, project notes, client details, and to-do lists – for me it works like an all-in-one connected system. A word of caution: it’s easy to over-engineer your own setup if you’re not careful.

4. NotebookLM: Virtual Research Assistant

This is the newest tool in my bag, and it’s already indispensable for research-heavy work. It helps me find the answers to my questions from a pile of information instead of simply asking AI to summarize the entire pile. I feed source material like website articles, meeting notes, pdf documents, etc., and it helps me synthesize and organize the information. I haven’t found a catch yet, but I have just about begun to poke around with it. 5. Cap Cut: For Video Editing

Video has become part of almost every marketer’s toolkit, even when video isn’t technically their job. Cap Cut helps me with short-form video work including IG Reels, YT Shorts, and quick promotional clips. It strikes a rare balance between being easy to use and still offering enough control for polished results. The more advanced effects and premium templates are locked behind a paid tier, and that can be a dealbreaker for some.

Eventually, “it’s not the gear, it’s the monkey behind the machine”, that is, the human element or “the input”. So, while it’s tempting to chase every new tool that promises to fix your workflow, what actually works is a handful of tools that fit how you think, and quietly solve the same problems you run into, repeatedly.  Your stack will probably look different from mine, and it should be. So, I’ll turn the question back to you: what are the digital marketing tools you open almost every day, without a second thought?
